Floatplane Landings in Quetico Park

An Atikokan-based environmental group has added its voice to those
opposed to floatplane landings in Quetico Provincial Park.
Friends of Quetico chairman John Soghigian says the organization
has advocated a ceiling limit and other limitations following
complaints from park visitors.
Soghigian’s comments follow similar concerns raised by an
Atikokan-area tourist outfitter regarding floatplane landings this
summer in Mack Lake on the park’s eastern boundary.
Floatplane landings in the park are normally prohibited except in
emergency situations.
