Flood victims in Thunder Bay are feeling short-changed by the province.
The Government will only be kicking in $300,000 for victims of the May 2012 flood.
Thunder Bay-Atikokan Liberal MPP Bill Mauro understands how people could be upset by the news and he’s vowing to continue to work with the City.
Mauro says he’s working with his counterparts to increase the funding.
He notes the rules under the relief program have been in place for years.
Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle is also vowing to help flood victims in Thunder Bay.
He says he’s working directly with Municipal Affairs Minister Linda Jeffrey.
Gravelle says he’s optimistic that they can find a solution.
Clean up costs ended up totalling roughly $15-million.
