The Northwestern Health Unit says schools and daycares
account for the majority of reported cases of influenza.
In the Northwest 66 percent of influenza cases, were
kids younger than 10 years of age.
Spokesperson Cindy McKinnon adds of those cases most
were not immunized.

The NWHU distributed 33 thousand doses of vaccine to
agencies across the region. Area health units
administered around 10-thousand doses.
