Premier Doug Ford is once again repeating that a child care agreement for $10 a day daycare is close.
Ford and Trudeau were at the same press conference Wednesday and the premier assured Ontarians that an agreement will be signed.
“Very, very close, as the prime minister said,” Ford disclosed at an announcement at the Honda Plant in Alliston, Ontario, with the prime minister.
“Our teams are working together on a daily basis and we’ll have an announcement very, very soon.”
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirms the federal government is still at the table with Ontario to reach a deal.
“From that place of alignment and agreement, we’re working very hard, and like I said, we hope to have things to announce very soon.”
Ontario is the only province or territory in Canada that hasn’t signed a child care agreement with the federal government.
