A government appointed council designed to alleviate the
pressures facing the forest industry met for the first time
yesterday.
Forest Industry Council member and Kenora Mayor Dave
Canfield feels discussions with the minister of natural
resources and industry reps went well.

Canfield says they’ll be meeting with the Minister again
in Toronto, in 2 weeks time, and plan to have a final
report this spring.
The Council is made up of 17 members from Municipal,
Forest and First nation sectors.
