Forest Fire Evacuations Story of 2011 Season

Not very difficult to determine the top story this forest fire season.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says more than 4,400 people from 11-Northern communities were evacuated between July 21st and August 9th.
Information Officer Debbie McLean says it was a massive undertaking to get the evacuees to 15-host communities in Ontario.
A number of agencies worked together to schedule over 250-flights to move people to and from their home communities.
Most evacuations were due to smoke, however McLean notes a couple of fires did inch close to some communities.
The official end to the forest fire season was Monday.
