More Information on Fatal Blast in Terrace Bay

Two Ministry of Labour investigators are in Terrace Bay looking into the circumstances surrounding a fatal explosion at Buchanan’s Pulp Mill.
The name of the deceased isn’t being released until the family is notified.
Spokesperson William Lin says the investigator’s have secured the scene of Monday’s incident.
Lin says the Ministry will determine if there were any violations under the Health and Safety Act as well as the cause of the blast.
Lin says a worker was killed when a 14 by 40 sized “blow tank” exploded.
Two other workers were injured in the blast.
OPP and the Fire Marshall’s Office is also investigating.
