The forest fire situation in northwestern Ontario is calming down.
The hazard is low in the southern portion of the region and now moderate in the north.
One fire of note, Red Lake #17, is now classed as under control and crews will be demobilizing starting Wednesday.
Another significant fire in the same district is listed as under control.
Several fires are being monitored but are showing no signs of acting up.
Meantime, more Ontario fire fighters are being brought home from Alberta.
About 53 Ministry of Natural Resources personnel are still working in the province.
The MNR had as many as 250 people assisting with the fire fight in the western province since the end of May.
