Finally a break in the forest fire hazard.
Ministry of Natural Resources Spokesperson Deb McLean says right now the forest fire hazard in the southern part of Northwestern Ontario is low. McLean says the rain has played a helpful role. In the Far North, the fire hazard remains moderate. McLean says currently there are 37-active forest fires in Northwestern Ontario, with 32 of them being monitored. She adds firefighters are working on the remainder of them.
