Forest Fire Season Continues Across the Region

The Ministry of Natural Resources is concerned with the number of human caused fires that have sparked in recent days.
Information Officer Debbie MacLean says day burning is prohibited and all campfires must be completely extinguished.
MacLean says the fire hazard is expected to hit extreme by the end of the week.
MacLean says 34-active fires continue to burn roughly 450,000 hectares of land.
A total of 885 fires have been reported in the region this season, with more than 635,200 hectares of land burned.
MacLean is also asking hunters to watch for firefighters when out in the bush.
