The forest fire situation in northwestern Ontario is relatively calm as Ministry of Natural Resources Fire Crews are heading to BC.
There were no new fires reported yesterday afternoon in the northwest region.
This is likely due to the wet weather. The forest fire hazard is low to moderate in southern areas in the region.
However the forest fire hazard in northern portions of the region is high.
Currently there are eight active forest fires in the Northwest Region. Two are under control and the remainder are being observed.
