Thunder Bay is going to be getting a visit from the site selection committee for the Special Olympics 2020 Winter Games.
The vice president of Special Olympics Canada, says it’s the next stage of the process that’ll see our city or Regina win the right to host the games.
Blair McIntosh says the two day visit will begin on Thursday of next week.
He says they’ll hear some presentations by the local bid committee, tour the prospective sports venues and see the proposed athletes village.
That’ll be followed on Friday, by a question and answer session with city officials before they leave to make a final decision.
The winning city will be announced in mid to late August.
