Northwestern Ontario’s largest forest fire is now under control.
Thanks to the work of water bombers and helicopters, fire crews have
managed to establish a permiter around the 750 hectare blaze, about 320
kilometres north of Thunder Bay.
Some 20-fire crews were dispatched to the blaze, a majority from this
area.
Smoke from the fire forced the evacuation of 255 people from Fort Hope.
Its unclear when they will be allowed to return home.
