A lot of positive reaction to this morning’s announcement by the province on aid for the forest industry.
$47 million will go to construction & maintainence of logging roads along with another 70 million rectoactively to reduce stumpage fees.
Dryden Mayor Anne Krassilowsky was at the announcement & says the news was exciting.

krassilowsky says more needs to be done but this will help ensure Dryden’s future as well as the future of the rest of the region.
The companies are pleased with the package too, Weyerhaeuser’s Bonnie Skeene who says the Government appears to have come a long way.
Skeene says energy costs still need to be addressed but by & large todays announcement is seen as a signifigant positive step.
