Forestry Charter Established

The Northern Ontario Sustainable Communities Partnership has unveiled
its Charter of Rights for the forest industry.
The Charter spells out the responsibilities of area communities, First
Nations and the Provincial Government over the handling of our forests.
Spokesperson Peggy Smith says the North is at a crossroads and notes we have an
opportunity to re-evaulate our forest management system and develop a new
plan for the future.
The Charter has been endorsed by a number of organizations and will
be sent to candidates running in the provincial election.
