A former Chief of Shoal Lake 39 First Nation has been charged with two sex related charges.
Provincial Police say 56-year-old Eli Mandamin was recently taken into custody on the charges of rape and sex with a minor.
An investigation was launched in May of this year relating back to incidents occurring in Shoal Lake between 1975 and 1977.
Mandamin at that time was a First Nations Constable with the OPP.
He will answer to the charges in Kenora Court next month.
