Former Dryden Man Gets 20 Years

A former Dryden resident has been sentenced to 20 years in Prison after
a jury found him guilty of shooting his cousin’s wife in the head and
leaving her to die.
Jurors in Alberta have returned the verdict in the attempted murder
trial of David Lysak.
Charlotte Lysak had testified that in September 2003, her cousin David
was at her Edmonton-area home, and she said Lysak shot her twice in the back
of the head after telling her he was going to rape her.
The woman managed to crawl onto the road to get help.
The judge said the former Dryden man’s lengthy criminal record was a
factor in the sentence.
Lysak has been linked to several property crimes in Dryden in the past.
