From Sioux Lookout to a possible seat in the House of Commons in Ottawa.
Florence Bailey is seeking the Conservative nomination in Thunder Bay-Superior North and is going up against Nipigon Mayor Richard Harvey.
Bailey is an advisor to Natural Resources Minister Greg Rickford.
She describes the Kenora MP as a mentor and notes she had the backing of the Northern Caucus, MP’s and the Cabinet when making the decision.
Bailey adds she respects that Nipigon Mayor Richard Harvey is also seeking the nomination.
Bailey was the Economic Development Officer for the Municipality of Sioux Lookout for six years and was the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines Northern Development Officer for Sioux Lookout and area for six years previous to that.
She’s also worked for First Nations and says she knows how to access funding a get projects done under strict deadlines.
