Area leaders are looking to the provincial government for help in any potential sale of the Fort Frances Mill.
The inability to secure wood at a reasonable rate is cited as one of the issues behind failed negotiations by Wisconsin-based Expera Speciality Solution with Resolute Forest Products.
Fort Frances Mayor Roy Avis says he’s prepared to do what it takes to ensure there’s wood for the mill.
Avis says that includes lobbying and news conferences and may also include blockades.
For now, a delegation of municipal and First Nations leaders are bringing their concerns directly to Queen’s Park today.
