Fort Frances remains under a state of emergency.
It was exactly one year ago today that the town was prompted to issue the declaration because of rapidly rising waters of Rainy Lake and Rainy River.
Chief Administrative Officer Mark McCaig says there was no guessing then that it would still be in place today, but they are still dealing with the effects.
McCaig says there no timetable as to when the declaration may be lifted.
Looking back, McCaig says it was the first real test of the town’s emergency control group and the plan it had practiced.
