Public Board Pleased With Jump Start Partnership

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says it’s already starting to see some benefits from its partnership with the Canadian Tire Jump Start program.

The board recently received a cheque for almost $5,000.

Director of Education Sean Monteith says the money is being ear-marked for athletic and sports programs in local schools, including the Hockey Academy in Sioux Lookout.

Monteith says he’s proud of the partnership and he hopes it will grow.

He notes they need to do a better job promoting the initiative and its value to local youth.

Monteith says their Board is just the third in Canada and the only one in Ontario to benefit from a partnership with Jump Start.
