The heavy rain has subsided for now but more is in the forecast for today.
The Thunder Bay district was the hardest hit from the 3-consecutive days of rain.
A state of emergency has been declared in Fort William and Chief Georjanne Morriseau says 170-members of the First Nation have been evacuated after road wash outs and flood conditions.
Morriseau says they will reassess the situation today.
Ontario Management Ontario and the Red Cross are involved in the state of emergency.
Thunder Bay received roughly 70-millimetres of rain, but the Highway 11 corridor was the hardest hit with 80-to-100 millimetres of rain.
Officials warn it could have been a lot worse as 70-millimetres was in the forecast for yesterday alone.
Isolated flooding is being reported in the Dryden area but nothing serious at this point.
The area saw about 50-millimetres of rain.
All major highways are open.
