Charles Fox admits its David vs. Goliath, but stresses its time for change in the Kenora riding.
The Native leader officially announced his intention to run against Bob Nault for the Federal Liberal Nomination at a press conference in Eagle Lake on Thursday.
Fox says Nault has done little to develop the region and believes he has poisoned the relationship between the Government and Aboriginals.
The member of Bearskin Lake First Nation already has the backing of Eagle Lake Council, the Nishnawbe Aski Nation and the Chief of Grand Council #3.
Fox is pledging to sell more than 500 memberships this weekend, before ending with more than 5,000.
After that, Fox says the push will be on to form an executive at the yet to be called Executive meeting.
Fox angered some in the Nault camp when he expressed interest in running against the incumbent MP.
However, Fox doesn’t believe that will split the party in this riding.
