Area Elementary Schools are in the middle of the pack in Ontario when
it comes to reading, writing and math skills.
The Fraser Institute has released its 2005 rankings of about 2,800
Elementary Schools and Lakewood Public is the top facility with an 8.4 out
of 10 rating.
The Kenora school finished in the top 210 in Ontario.
The Golden Learning Centre in Balmertown was high with a 6.9, while
Riverview School was tops in Dryden with a 6.6.
The most disturbing ranking was at Sioux Mountain Public School.
The Sioux Lookout facility finished with a 0.1 rating, one of the
worst in all of Ontario.
