Fraser Institute Releases High School Report

The Fraser Institute has released its report card on High Schools in the province and it’s not looking good for our region.
Co-author Peter Cowley says schools in the Northwest aren’t moving forward on student achievement.
Cowley notes there are no schools in the area that have shown improvement in the past 5-years.
Dryden achieved the highest rate in student achievement with a 4.9 out of 10.
Red Lake scored a 4.8, while Beaver Brae came in at 3.3 and Queen Elizabeth High School 3.2.
The provincial average is 6.
Cowley notes parents should use the report card to pressure school officials and teachers to make changes.
The Public School Board has long ignored the right-wing think tank report.
