Free Tipping Days May be Eliminated

Free Tipping Days at the Highway 502 landfill site may be dumped by the City of Dryden.
Council will vote on April 7th whether or not to continue to annual
practice.
Last year, the free disposal of household waste was held the last
weekend in May and about 1,000 vehicles went through the landfill
gates.
Staff note on a normal weekend, traffic at the site is about
120-vehicles.
Free Tipping Days costs the City roughly $65,000 a year.
Some believe it will prevent residents from outside city limits from
dumping their household waste when its free of charge.
Others believe free tipping days encourage residents to keep their
property clean.
