Full Day Kindergarten Is A Success

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is one step closer to having all elementary schools offer full-day kindergarten.
Superintendent of Education Caryl Hron says they are in their fourth year of the program, and so far it’s been a huge success.
Last year the board set a goal to have all of their students reading by the time they enter grade one.
Hron says 92% of students were successful, while the other 8% were identified as needing additional assistance.
Hron says they have 15 schools that currently offer full-day kindergarten, and next year 16 schools will reach full implementation
Hron says they are looking forward to having every student in the school board have the benefit of a full-day learning program.
