One of Patty Hajdu’s pet projects is getting funding as the result of the new federal budget.
The Status of Women minister says $60-million will be going towards housing for victims of domestic violence which will include transitional housing.
The Thunder Bay MP says the budget also provides funding which will be used to pay for research to provide up-to-date and reliable information on gender based violence in Canada.
Hajdu notes right now they don’t have a lot of reliable data to go by.
