Funding Available For Economic Development Manager

Dryden’s decision to hire an Economic Development Manager may have just been made a lot easier thanks to the Federal Government.
FedNor Minister Greg Rickford says he’s introducing $3-million in funding under the Community Investment Initiative for Northern Ontario.
Rickford says staff would be hired on a term basis to attract, retain and support business investment.
The money is available to any northern community and first nation who doesn’t have an Economic Development Manager or Economic Development Officer.
He notes Dryden, Machin, Ear Falls, Ignace and Pickle Lake all fall into that category.
Rickford says he takes great pride in this initiative as it fairly reflects the voice small northern communities need to have to advance their economic priorities.
He is encouraging communities to work as a team to access the funding.
