A new Machin Water Treatment Plant is still in need of $2.6 million.
The Town recently received $726,000 from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund to cover some of the costs and other grant applications are in.
Mayor Barbara Beernaerts says the Town decided to begin construction on the $6.9 million plant in April because the Project must be completed by next Summer or else the Municipality could face hefty fines.
She is confident they can secure the necessary funding in time.
Machin has been under a boil water advisory since June 2000.
