The Province is dishing out $10-million to a program that oversees Aboriginal Health and Wellness.
Speaking in Thunder Bay, Minister of Community and Social Services Dr. Helena Jaczek says part of the funding will go towards ‘Talk4Healing’, a help line for Aboriginal women in the North who have limited access to services.
Jaczek notes the money will also go directly to area First Nation communities, while $1.5-million will enhance wages for front line workers.
She spoke Thursday at the 20th anniversary of the Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy, a partnership between the provincial government and area First Nations.
