The Canadian Unregistered Firearms Owners Association has raised about $1,000 for the Bruce Montague defense fund.
Secretary Ed Hudson says they have a good defense against some of the charges laid against the Dryden man.
Montague faces several firearm violations, including unauthorized possession.
Hudson says they will be expanding fundraising efforts as about $300,000 will be needed to defend the charges.
Bruce Montague will be back in court November 15th while his wife Donna will make her first court appearance on October 25th.
