The fur industry is booming in Northwestern Ontario, despite the myths surrounding trapping.
The 2004 Ontario Fur Managers Convention will be held in Kenora at the end of the month.
Director Ken Maw says most of the fur found in the area is sold to different parts of the world.
Skinning demonstrations of mink, otter, beaver and wolf are planned as well as discussions on wildlife management and conservation.
The event will also include log sawing, moose calling and time trap setting competitions.
