The founding Dean of the Northern Ontario Medical School says the resignation of a second dean in as many months could delay the school’s opening.
Roger Strasser made the comment Wednesday after it was announced that Dr. Tim Allen was stepping down as Dean of the east campus in Sudbury.
Dr. Louis Francescutti resigned as Dean of the west campus in Thunder Bay last month, citing family reasons.
The school was expected to open September 2004, but Allen’s resignation could push the opening back one year.
The Ontario Government says its confident the new Northern Medical School will open on time.
