A Resource Management Plan will be finalized for the Lac Seul Conservation Reserve early next year.
The MNR continues to work on the massive document that impacts 1,000 islands (14,132 hectares) in the Lac Seul Waterway system.
Spokesperson Glen Birch says the plan does not involve harvesting rights but rather preserving environmental interests.
Birch says everyday users should not be impacted by any proposed change.
The MNR is working directly with Lac Seul First Nation and the Sioux-Hudson Travel Association.
