The federal government is celebrating the success of the gas tax program in Northwestern Ontario.
A total of 76 communities in the region saw road improvements in 2014 through the federal fund.
In the Dryden area, the Aubrey, Eton, Gordon Lake, Melgund, Wabigoon Southeast and Rugby Local Roads Board’s received roughly $226,000.
Also in the Dryden area, the Zealand, Wainwright, Wabigoon Redverse West, Van Horne and Ghost Lake Local Roads Board’s received roughly $189,000.
More than 1.9-million dollars was spent on 113 regional projects to pave roads, improve drainage, fill potholes and install ditches.
