Georgina Williams Receives Diamond Jubilee Medal

Everyone has a story.
For Georgina Williams, hers includes days of being born in a federal prison for catholic and being kept there without identifcation for 18 years, prostitution and alcohol abuse.
Since then, she has written five books about her life and is the recipient of a Diamond Jubilee medal.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell presented the medal yesterday at the Dryden museum.
Campbell says she is proud to recognize Williams for everything she has gone through and everything she has done for the community.
Williams says when she got the call about the medal, she first thought it was a joke and then thought it was a mistake.
However, the smile on her face could not hide how happy she was.
Williams says even though she has limited education, she would love to go to university.
