Raising awareness about sexually transmitted infections and blood borne illnesses.
That’s the focus of a campaign that the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority is launching on Monday.
Director of Health Services Janet Gordon says the focus to reduce the number of STI/BBI cases in the region by informing the public on how they can protect themselves and prevent infections from spreading.
Other health organizations are invited to attend the launch.
It’s being held at the Jeremiah McKay Kabayshewekamik Hostel at 3pm.
Gordon adds that there is a huge risk in the surrounding communities, as people share needles and don’t use condoms.
