There’s a new person chairing the region’s health authority.
Lawyer Gil Labine has been appointed chair of the North West Local Health Integration Network by the provincial government.
Labine says he took the position to be involved in the changing health care climate.
He says health care and education are the two top priorities in his volunteer life and he simply wanted to be a part of the process.
Labine believes the challenge during his term will be to provide proper funding to help sustain health care in the northwest.
He takes over from Dan Levesque who was interim chair for almost a year. (Photo: northwestlhin.on.ca)
