An inquest is scheduled to begin Monday looking into the death of Grassy Narrows resident Gloria Assin.
Assin was killed while being transported to the Kenora Detachment of the OPP in the back of a police cruiser.
The vehicle was struck by a transport while going through a red light at the intersection of the Kenora By-Pass and Redditt Road in September of 2012.
An inquest is mandatory anytime someone is killed while in police custody.
A week is being set aside to hear from 12 witnesses.
Dr. Michael Wilson will be presiding over the hearing.
