A Kenora business trying to set up shop in Dryden is facing some
opposition.
Godbout Auto Services is hoping to gain City approval to
establish an Auto Recycling Facility on Highway 17 East near Northern Fuels
and Lubricants.
At a public meeting Monday, some residents expressed concern about
excess noise, appearance, environmental hazards and crushing cars at night.
Andrea Godbout responded by saying their operation in Kenora has won
beautification awards and would operate during normal business hours.
She added they would follow the City site plan agreement and adds they
have always worked closely with the Ministry of Environment.
A majority of Council appear to be in favour of changing the zoning
bylaw for the business however a final vote still needs to be held.
