MP’s who lost on Monday night will be receiving pretty generous severance packages according to figures released by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
Kevin Lacey notes taxpayers will be on the hook for a good chunk of the costs.
Lacey says the pensions over their lifetime will cost over $200-million and severance’s will amount to just more than $12-million.
According to the Federation, former Kenora MP Greg Rickford will get an annual pension of $40,000 starting at the age of 55 and a severance payment of $123,000.
