Many political experts in the country are still expressing surprise at the extent of Justin Trudeau’s victory and that includes Lakehead University political science professor Laure Paquette.
Paquette says she misjudged how big Trudeau’s coattails were and that includes the departure of John Rafferty and Greg Rickford.
However, she could see Bruce Hyer’s defeat in Thunder Bay-Superior North a mile away.
Paquette notes the incumbents fell to strategic voting and she calls the election results in Kenora “a fight to the death”.
