Good News For Legal Aid In The Region

The Ministry of the Attorney General has announced an extra 30-million dollars for community legal aid clinics.
Trudy McCormick is the executive director of the Northwest Legal Clinic and says the funding basically returns money that was taken away in this spring’s provincial budget.
She says they will be able to keep things status quo for the time being.
Meanwhile, McCormick says legal aid clinics across the province are currently working on a strategic plan that she hopes will help them find ways to save money in the long term.
