Local firefighters will participate in the 2nd Annual Bike Ride in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
Reagan Breeze with the Dryden Fire Service says they leave on September 9th from the Ontario/Manitoba border and expect to arrive in Thunder Bay on September 12th.
Breeze will be joined by Graham Warburton, Tyler Marusyk and Corey Hayes from other fire departments.
Breeze says last year, they raised over $6,000 for Muscular Dystrophy, and all of the proceeds stay in the community.
Breeze says they came up with the idea to participate it during a conference in St. Catherines Ontario. He says there were a bunch of firefighters from southern Ontario that had done a lot of fundraising, and figured Northwestern Ontario should jump on board.
The bike ride will also lead them to FireCon, which is an annual conference where over 300-firefighters participate in a 3-day training camp.
