Gordon Matthew Sampson

In loving memory of Gordon Matthew Sampson, age 93 years, who passed away peacefully at his residence in Princess Court, on Friday November 2, 2012, with his family by his side.
Gordon was born at Glenboro, Manitoba and moved to Dryden in 1947. He was employed at St. Regis Bag Factory, Alex Wilson Publications and the Kenora Patricia District School Board. Upon retirement, he enjoyed his time with his family, golfing, playing cards with friends and creating wooden crafts which he marketed at the local craft shows. His specialties were toaster tongs and hot pot tiles.
Gordon Sampson is survived by his son Barry (Thelma), daughters Maxine Hamilton (Neil) and Terrie Capovilla (Luc), by six grandchildren: Paula (Tom), Stephen (Jan), Susan (Todd), Patti (Darcy), Shaun & Erin, eight great grandchildren and 2 sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Ina, in July 2011, and four brothers and one sister.
A family graveside service was held in the Dryden Cemetery. If friends desire donations may be made to Princess Court through the Stevens Funeral Homes P.O. Box 412, Dryden ON P8N 2Z1. Condolences may be posted at stevensfuneralhomes.ca
