It’s the end of long-gun registry records.
Kenora MP Greg Rickford announced that as of October 31, there are no records for anyone who lives outside Quebec.
Rickford says this is great news for all Northern Ontarians who wanted the registry to be dismantled.
He says their priority was to target criminals who use the guns for crime-related acts, not law-abiding people with guns, including First Nations people.
The long-gun registry cost $2 billion dollars.
