Ontario’s Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry says they are planning to bring in more resources to help battle wild fires in northern Ontario.
Jeff Yurek says they are looking at a number of different options right now.
Yurek says they are anticipating more fire rangers from Mexico and more equipment from their provincial partners.
He says they are also exploring an option to allow retired firefighters to come back on the job on a temporary basis.
Yurek also requested a moment of silence Monday to remember Alberta firefighter Jerry Gadwa, who died last week while battling a wild fire near Red Lake.
