Governments Invest In Northern Ontario Highways

Eleven bridges in Northwestern Ontario are getting a fix up thanks to 61 million federal and provincial tax dollars.
Minister of State and Transport Steven Fletcher says it’s critical to keep our roads in good condition.
He says it’s important to connect western and eastern Canada with highway 11 and 17, and it’s important that the bridges are maintained.
Fletcher adds they rely on local knowledge, particularly from the province, stakeholders and the department of transportation and highways.
The closest projects to Dryden are a 7.2 million dollar renovation to the Melgund River and Nugget Creek Bridges and 7 million dollars for the Gulliver River Bridge, east of Ignace.
