Grace Haven is asking the City of Dryden to help them lobby the Province to fix the funding formula for Community Care Centres.
The Province only funds 40% of Grace Haven’s Adult Day Programs, while similar ones in the Northwest are paid for in full.
Spokesperson Liz Schmidt says they want answers from the Ministry of Health and a level playing field.
Schmidt says they have to come up with $54,000 annually to run 3 day programs at the Centre and 1 at Patricia Gardens.
Meantime, Grace Haven has launched its Festival of Trees campaign and has asked Council for $1,000.
City Staff will review each request.
